By accessing or using HackBase (“the Platform”), operated by Nextbridge Africa (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
HackBase is a hackathon operating system that enables organisers to create and manage hackathons, and builders to register, form teams, submit projects, and receive prizes. The Platform includes registration management, team formation, project submissions, rubric-based judging, prize distribution tracking, and related tools.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Platform. One person may not maintain more than one account.
Organisers are responsible for the hackathons they create, including prize fulfilment, accurate descriptions, and timely communication with participants. HackBase facilitates prize tracking but does not hold, escrow, or guarantee prize funds. Organisers must comply with all applicable laws in their jurisdiction.
Builders must submit original work. Plagiarised, fraudulent, or malicious submissions may be removed. Builders are responsible for ensuring their submissions comply with hackathon rules set by the organiser.
Builders retain ownership of all projects they create and submit. HackBase does not claim any rights over user-submitted content. By submitting a project, you grant HackBase a non-exclusive licence to display the project title, description, and metadata on the Platform for the purpose of operating the service.
Paid plans are billed through our payment partner (Bachs). Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Free tier features may change with notice.
HackBase tracks prize distribution but does not process payments directly. Organisers are solely responsible for transferring prizes to winners. HackBase provides tools for winners to report disputes if prizes are not received.
You may not: use the Platform for illegal activities; attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems; submit spam, malware, or harmful content; impersonate others; or circumvent rate limits or security measures.
HackBase is provided “as is” without warranty. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to unpaid prizes, data loss, or service interruptions. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page.
We may update these terms. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
